Colic….
Is an intestinal disturbance that mainly affects babies up to age of 3 months. The symptoms are persistent crying and hardened abdomen, and the baby may draw his legs up against his stomach.
In this massage we want to calm your baby and than we want to calm the digestive tract.
The best time to treat your baby is not when he has an episode of colicky crying. Treat him when he is more relaxed.
You can work on him when you are feeding him or simply holding him. Or even just spend few minutes when you changing his nappy. When he is crying of the colicky pain and you are walking around with him, rocking him, or holding him tightly against your chest or on your hand to compress his abdomen, massage the area on his back, feet and legs like listed bellow…

1.Start by gently stroking your baby’s forehead from the centre of the eyebrow towards the hairline, than press very gently the point between the eyebrows (This point is used to calm the system)
2.Stroke around the ears starting at the temples and working to the back of the head and find the point at the base of the scull and gently press in circular motion (GB20-used to calm)
3.Stroke dawn the midline of the front of the body from the breast bone to lower abdomen, than gently massage the points located on the midline bellow the breast bone 6 fingers above the navel (CV14 to calm the system)
And another point is located on the midline half way between the lower edge of breast bone and navel (CV12-promotes digestions and prevents wind and hiccups)
4.Massage the abdomen; clockwise direction around the navel
(It’s very soothing, helps the digestion)
5.Hip rotations and stretching knees to the tummy, pressing gently (helping the baby to pas gas if needed)
6.Massage dawn the side of the front of the legs-both at the same time –when your baby is on the back (Stomach meridian)
7.Gently massage on the outside of the lover leg a couple of inches below the kneecap (ST 36-balance the digestion)
8.Lie your baby on his tummy (you could lie him against your chest)and gently stroke dawn his back on either side of the spine –this will help to calm your baby
9.Squeezing up the spine-starting at the base of the spine squeeze the skin between thumb, index and middle finger and lift gently. Continue all the way up. Bee very gentle with young babies and DO NOT USE ON BABIES LESS THAN TWO WEEKS OLD!!!
