Before you begin the exercises, you should feel calm and relaxed.

- The Makko-ho are a sequence of six breathing exercises which both stimulate and encourage the flow of energy in your body.
- They can be used alongside Shiatsu sessions to help you improve your own well-being.
- Practising the Makko-Ho stretches enable you to balance the energy of all 12 meridian flow in your body-bringing you to a point of greater balance and centredness in yourself.
- This simple exercises you can practice anywhere whenever you are feeling tired or just need to wind down and relax.

Before you begin the exercises, you should feel calm and relaxed.
- take a breath in
- move into the stretch as you breathe out and relax
- staying in position, breathe in and as you exhale, try to relax a little further down into the stretch
- just go down as far as comfortable.
- do three or four long and slow exhalation while in each position
- don't worry if you fail to get very far into any position as it is the action of beginning the stretch what matters.
- Just keep breathing and stay relaxed
